Wildlife Photographers Collective India began with a simple idea: bring together people who share a genuine passion for wildlife, nature and photography, and create a space where they can learn from one another, share meaningful experiences and grow together.

What started as the brainchild of Kumud Kumar Gangesh, Parthiv Goel and Nishant Rana has grown into a vibrant community of wildlife photographers and nature enthusiasts.

WPCI was never intended to be just another photography group. The vision has always been to create a collective — a place where experience is shared freely, beginners feel welcome, accomplished photographers remain approachable, and appreciation for a photograph naturally leads to curiosity about the wildlife and habitat behind it.

Our philosophy

At WPCI we believe a great wildlife photograph is about much more than camera settings or expensive equipment. It begins with observation. It grows through patience and understanding. And it carries a responsibility towards the subject being photographed.

That principle sits at the heart of WPCI.

Capture. Learn. Connect. Conserve.

Capture

Celebrate the beauty, behaviour and diversity of wildlife through thoughtful and responsible photography.

Learn

Create an environment where knowledge flows freely — from wildlife behaviour and fieldcraft to photographic technique and post-processing.

Connect

Bring together photographers, birders, naturalists, mentors and enthusiasts from different backgrounds and experience levels.

Conserve

Encourage photography that respects wildlife and builds appreciation for the natural world.

The people behind WPCI

Kumud Kumar Gangesh · Co-Founder

One of the founding minds behind WPCI, Kumud has shaped the community from its early days — bringing photographers together and creating an environment where members openly exchange photographs, experiences and knowledge.

Parthiv Goel · Co-Founder

Part of the original team that envisioned a collective where wildlife enthusiasts could connect beyond simply sharing photographs, Parthiv contributes to the community’s philosophy of collaborative learning and responsible photography.

Nishant Rana · Co-Founder

One of the three people behind the original vision, Nishant has helped build WPCI as an open, collaborative space where photographers exchange experiences and develop their understanding of both photography and the natural world.

Built by three. Belongs to everyone.

While WPCI began with three people, the collective belongs to its community. There is no requirement to own professional equipment. There is no requirement to be an expert photographer. There is only one essential requirement:

A genuine respect for wildlife, and a willingness to learn and contribute.
The photograph matters. The experience matters. But the wildlife always comes first.
