Introducing WPCI

Photography was the excuse.

The community was the real picture.

Why do we travel?

And sometimes, nature gives us all three.

And to preserve and cherish that experience

We take photographs

A bare tree silhouetted against a misty orange sunriseAn Indian softshell turtle at eye level on wet groundA child lifting a bursting water balloon overhead during HoliStar trails circling the pole star above a forested ridge

Not only wildlife. A misty sunrise, a turtle at eye level, a child mid-Holi, the sky turning through a whole night — the habit of looking carefully does not switch off when the birds go quiet.

How it started

It started with a simple idea.

  1. 01Learn
  2. 02Share
  3. 03Explore
  4. 04Connect
  5. 05Conserve

And bring wildlife photographers together.

Then people happened

And WPCI grew

4+ years  ·  2,500+ people  ·  70+ walks and workshops

More than photography

  1. Observe
  2. Understand
  3. Appreciate
  4. Protect

The real picture

Photography brought us together.
Nature gave us something to care about.
And the community gave us a reason to keep coming back.

There is no requirement to own professional equipment, and no requirement to be an expert. Only a genuine respect for wildlife and a willingness to learn.
